Brentwood High’s Anvil Nelson was a December recipient of the John Maher award. Nelson was a statistical and emotional leader for the Bruins basketball team in 2010. He was the team’s leading rebounder and one of the hardest working, most coachable players Brentwood coach Dennis King could remember.
