Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee honor local realtor for charity work

Crye-Leike Agent Tammy Russell has always been committed to giving back to the communities she serves working as a licensed Realtor for the last eight years.

This year, Russell was excited to continue her tradition of volunteering and fundraising for several local charities. She was recently proud to raise big bucks for the organization Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee. She raised $5,680 for the charity in three weeks and was crowed ‘Duchess of the Vines’ at the Franklin Wine Festival where she was recognized by Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee for her fundraising achievements.

Russell was able to successfully and quickly collect money for the charity through a social media fundraiser on Facebook and an Art Barre fundraiser she organized featuring four local artists, live music, wine and cheese and lots of generous donors that helped her raise $1,500 from just that event.

“For several years, I have been on the fundraising committee volunteering for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee, but this year it was much more personal for me,” said Russell. “I was one of three nominees rushing around and competing to see who could personally raise the most money for the organization in a few short weeks. It was an honor to win an award from the Big Brothers and Big Sisters charity for my fundraising efforts and it was a blessing to feel the support of my generous clients, friends, family and fellow Realtors who helped me make my charity campaign a great success.”

Russell said she has enjoyed community service work since she was in high school when she visited retirement homes organizing pageants to keep the seniors entertained. She also co-created a charity called Mending Limbs and has enjoyed being a volunteer for the March of Dimes for the last eight years.

“Doing community work and helping to raise awareness for those who need help has always been a proud passion of mine, in addition to helping real estate clients,” Russell said.

Crye-Leike Realtor Tammy Russell assists buyers and sellers in and around Williamson, Davidson, and Rutherford counties based out of the company’s Brentwood branch office.
