Guy Brown launches sustainable Cartridge Recycling Program

Free e-label return site available

Brentwood company, Guy Brown, nationally known for its print, office products, promotional marketing and furniture solutions, recently, announced an initiative available to both customers and non-customers; the ability to print a free, recycling label from The company will accept all empty printer cartridges from any business, regardless if it is a current client or not.

“Sustainability and environmental consciousness are at the very foundation of what we do,” said Tera Vazquez, President and CEO of Guy Brown. “Launching this comprehensive recycling program allows Guy Brown to take our commitment one step further in assisting other businesses in meeting their social responsibility and sustainability goals.”

Mike Ducey, Vice President of Guy Brown’s Print Division, adds, “Millions of spent cartridges end up in U.S. landfills each year. These products are perfectly recyclable and reusable; however, most people view recycling as a hassle or an additional cost to their business. Our program removes these barriers and makes cartridge recycling possible for all, at no cost to them.”

The benefits of recycling spent toner/ink cartridges stretch beyond the environmental implications, according to Ducey. “The recycled cartridges are the lifeblood of the Remanufacturing Cartridge Industry.  Recycling allows the 35 percent of U.S. consumers, who demand a remanufactured cartridge, to ‘Have a Choice’ at a substantial cost savings.  As consumers, we all want the right to choose.

“The reality is that reengineered cartridges provide the same level of performance in terms of quality, print output and function for significantly less cost than OEM product. We take returned cartridges, recycle and reengineer them to supply the market with a quality alternative that performs to the same standard as the original cartridge. Each cartridge is print tested prior to final packaging and backed by our 12-month unconditional warranty,” shared Ducey.

Historically, printer supplies have represented 30-35 percent of a company’s total office supply spend. Guy Brown has seen their reengineered cartridge business flourish in healthcare, education, business and other markets presenting, in some cases, a 50 percent cost savings to the client.
