Williamson Medical Center staff, Williamson County Chamber of Commerce representatives and leaders in Spring Hill and Thompson Station gathered to show their support of the new medical center in the community of Thompson Station.
Williamson Medical Center at Tollgate Medical Plaza, 1106 Elliston Way in Thompson Station held a ribbon cutting this week.

About a hundred community leaders and residents attended the celebration to tour facilities and show support.

In addition to having Dr. Scott Lieberman at the new WMC plaza, the health care center will offer diagnostic imaging and lab services for all.

Physical therapy patient Gary Buchanan, who has received his care from WMC for many years, said he was glad to have the medical resources so close to home.

“I’ve had two knee replacements and a hip replacement with Williamson Medical Center, and I am extremely pleased. They have a fabulous record,” Buchanan said.

He says that the Tollgate location will be more convenient since he and his wife, Beth, moved to the area recently to be closer to their grandchildren after living in Franklin for 45 years.

After owning the building for about five years, WMC decided about a year and a half ago when growth picked-up in the area that it would be an ideal time to open the new health center in Thompson Station.

“It frees up space at the hospital [at the Franklin main campus location] which allows more growth, and it meets our vision and mission to be accessible to the community,” said Tim Burton, WMC Associate Administrator.

“As part of healthcare reform, the Tollgate location provides more access points and meets our strategic plan.”

Thompson’s Station Alderman Nina Cooper said she is happy to finally see the space opened and occupied.

“It’s a catalyst to spur economic growth,” she said.
Although WMC utilizes the first floor of the Tollgate Medical Plaza, about 15,000 sq.ft. on the top floors of the three-story building is currently available for lease by Alliant Commercial Realty Services, Inc.
