Nolensville business community invited to share ideas at July 18 meeting

The Williamson County Chamber of Commerce (WCCC) will host a strategic visioning session with business professionals in the Nolensville area on Thursday, July 18, at the Nolensville Town Hall, 7218 Nolensville Road.

The WCCC/Nolensville Area Business Council meeting will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Lunch will be provided by Amico’s and registration is requested.

The meeting will provide an opportunity for participants to share and discuss ideas about how to promote business success and growth in the Nolensville area. The session will be moderated by Liz Allen Fey, whose company Strategy and Leadership LLC works extensively with all types of businesses, groups and individuals to help them identify goals and the steps needed to achieve them.

Nolensville Chamber of Commerce members recently voted to dissolve that organization.  Currently active memberships in the former Nolensville Chamber will transfer to the WCCC, which in late 2012 was created by the unification of the three largest county chambers.

“In June the Nolensville Chamber of Commerce voted during a specially called membership meeting to dissolve the organization," explained Angela Votta, a board member of the Nolensville Chamber who is assisting with the dissolution process. "The vote was unanimous. The members took this step because we felt it was advantageous for us to be part of the county-wide chamber, which will provide us access to more programs, offerings and networking opportunities."

Representatives of the Nolensville Chamber provided input and participated throughout the unification process of the three larger Williamson County chambers, Votta explained.

"We welcome all business professionals from the Nolensville area to join the county-wide chamber and become active participants in the many events, committees and other educational and relationship-building opportunities that are offered," said Matt Largen, president and CEO. "The Williamson County Chamber is eager to extend its resources to the Nolensville business community and the committed leaders who live and work there."

"Our local business members and companies look forward to participating with the Williamson County Chamber in the new business council to support and help grow the community and serve the local residents,” Votta said.

Also at the June Nolensville Chamber meeting, the members voted on how to disburse any unused funds left in the organization's budget.

“We are happy that any funds remaining in the Nolensville Chamber budget will be used locally to support our wonderful schools," Votta explained. "We hope these funds will be of great benefit to the three existing Nolensville schools and to the new high school, once it is completed.”

All Nolensville business professionals are invited and encouraged to attend the July 18 meeting. Chamber membership is not required. The registration fee is $10 and may be made by calling 615-771-1912, or online at the events calendar at williamsoncountychamber.org..
