Sister Cities to hold International Beer Tasting event Oct. 12

Sister Cities of Franklin and Williamson County will hold their 2013 Celebration of Nations event in Downtown Franklin, Saturday, Oct. 12, 3-8 p.m. The festival will feature an international beer tasting from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The venue will be on Fourth Avenue from the parking garage to Main Street and the alley from Fourth to the Historic Williamson County Courthouse.

There will be two stages, one on Fourth Avenue and another in front of the courthouse.

The international beer tasting will take place in the alley and will feature 20 beers, from 10 countries. Main Street will remain open. Tickets for the International Beer tasting are $25 in advance and $30 at the door, with limited tickets available. Tickets may be purchased at

Music and dance from India, Mexico, Ireland, Tibet, Canada, Persia, France, Americana and West Africa will be highlighted on both stages.

Event sponsors include: Williamson Medical Center, The Factory at Franklin, O’More College of Design, Stites and Harbison PLLC, Franklin Synergy Bank, Zia Productions, Southern Events, The Franklin Theatre, and The City of Franklin and Williamson County. The Franklin Transit Authority will offer the Transit on Demand twilight service for safe rides home. The service is in Franklin City limits only and people must call at least 72 hours in advance to schedule their pick-up and return. The cost is $6 per round trip.
