Support SouperBowl for Graceworks on Jan. 31

Graceworks asks you to get in the Superbowl spirit by supporting their 2nd Annual SouperBowl of Caring event.  The soup will be served from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Friday January 31.

A tax deductable donation of $10 for the soup will be used to support the ministries of GraceWorks.   The Fish radio station, Chick Filet’s famous cow(s) and other football “stars” will be there to take your order and help you get in the SouperBowl/Superbowl spirit.  Tickets may be purchased on line at www.graceworksministries.net .

In the last few months Graceworks volunteers have been soliciting support from restaurants to provide food and bread to be “dished up” hot and fresh in a drive-through setting in the Cool Springs Galleria parking lot.

This year’s event takes place in the Cool Springs Galleria parking lot near Macy’s, Logan’s Roadhouse and the Shoe Carnival.

Drive through and place your order.  The winning restaurants supporting the event include: Chick-fil-A with their chicken noodle soup; Culver's and their award-winning chili; Chili’s with a chicken enchilada soup; Stoveworks with a beer cheese soup; Whole Foods tomato bisque for vegetarians; and finally Logan's Roadhouse with a baked potato soup with cheese and bacon bits available.   Not to be outdone, the following restaurants are providing bread sticks:  Little Caesars, Domino's Pizza, Pizza Hut and finally Puckett’s with corn cakes.  In addition each carry out bagged lunch will also include local restaurant coupons including for example a free McAlister’s Deli cookie.  Come join the party in the parking lot.

In 2012, GraceWorks provided 14789 Fuel Bags for school children. The bags are prepared and delivered to the schools.  School officials know that some children are going home to a house without food, thus the backpacks of food go directly but discretely home with the children thus providing them something to eat over the weekend.   Over 3200 grocery baskets of food were provided to families in need at the GraceWorks facility off Columbia Avenue.  In addition GraceWorks provides funds to families for rent or mortgage payments when the need arises and the family meets qualifying criteria.

This is a great way to kick off your football weekend.  The food is great and will get you in the mood for the “OTHER” Superbowl.   Everyone wins at this event.   Monies raised assist those in need right here in Williamson County.  Volunteer Contact:   Sandy Baxter-Porter  615 268-9128   sjmbaxter@comcast.net
