On July 2, the Brentwood Police Department released a weekly report of crime within the city.

The most prevalent crime was thefts from motor vehicles. There were five in total, and all of the vehicles were unlocked. In one case, juveniles were arrested.

Two motor vehicles were stolen from driveways. One was recovered and one not.

In the general theft category, two residents were victims of identity theft. In one case, the victim’s identity was used to purchase a vehicle, and the other was to obtain a loan.

Vehicle wheels and a ladder were stolen from a storage unit in business burglaries.

In a residential burglary, 17 firearms were taken from a gun safe in a garage, and a Polaris Razr was also stolen, wrecked and recovered.

A message that the police department has conveyed many times is to lock cars and homes. Do not leave keys in cars overnight.

Each week, Brentwood Asst. Chief Richard Hickey updates the media. Call the Brentwood Police Department at 615-371-0160 to report crime. Only call 911 for life-threatening emergencies.
