Copper Penny boutique in Brentwood’s CityPark will close its doors on July 31.
Owners Gina, Michelle and Kristen Tedder shared the news with a Facebook post to their loyal customers.
The family-run business is an upscale women’s boutique that offers clothing and accessories described as a “Southern-inspired style out of Charleston with an edgy twist.”
The women had been discussing options of either renewing or changing locations, as they knew their lease was up in July. With the COVID-19 pandemic forcing the store to close, it tilted the balance for them to make the hard decision to ultimately close their doors.
“A lot has changed in the world and our lives the past five years,” the Facebook message read. “One thing that hasn’t changed is our love for fashion and having an outlet to connect with women in our community. After much consideration and as our lease comes to an end, we have decided to close our doors. This has not been an easy decision, but at this time we feel it’s the right decision for our family.”
“It’s challenging to be a small business without a pandemic,” Gina Tedder said. “People need to know how important it is to support local businesses. Our closing causes a trickle-down effect on other businesses.
“It’s been an honor to have our business in Brentwood and the support of our customers has been amazing.”
The store is honoring gift cards and deals with StyleBlueprint. Customers are encouraged to shop while prices are currently 30% off.
While the store has inventory to sell, Tedder does recommend visiting soon, as sales have been steady.
Copper Penny is located at 7030 Executive Center Drive, 103 in Brentwood.
