Bluefin Sushi and Thai in Brentwood showcased its menu and dining room at a ribbon cutting Thursday in partnership with Williamson, Inc.
Chamber ambassadors and Brentwood commissioners joined the 15-member Bluefin staff in cutting the ribbon and celebrating the restaurant, which opened in June.
“[Bluefin] looks wonderful,” Brentwood Vice Mayor Ken Travis said. “It looks like a place to gather with friends, and that’s what we need in Brentwood, because we’re a friendly community.”
For owner Dara Danh, who also owns Koi Sushi and Thai in Franklin, he wants everyone who walks through the door to feel welcome.
“We’re a family-owned business, and we know what the customer likes and we try to keep everybody happy when they walk in the door,” he said. “When they walk out, we want them to come back.”
Danh was born in Cambodia and lived in Thailand before coming to the U.S. when he was 15. His first job was working as a dishwasher at the Hillwood Country Club.
“There’s a lot of hard work involved, especially washing dishes,” he said. “It’s not an easy job.”
Eventually, Danh moved up the chain and began to learn even more skills in the kitchen that led him to becoming a business owner. It’s a process he started over 10 years ago, however, he still has an active role in all aspects of running his business.
“We make sure all of the food we serve is fresh and consistent,” he said. “We listen to the customer and what they want and go from there.”
From popular curry dishes to pad thai, Bluefin offers a wide range of fresh menu items.
Bluefin Sushi and Thai is located at 210 Franklin Road, suite 700 in Brentwood.
