The Friends of the Brentwood Library will hold their first quarterly book sale of the year at the John P. Holt Brentwood Library from Friday, Jan. 17-Sunday, Jan. 19.

Thousands of books of all kinds will be available: fiction, non-fiction, children’s, teens, classics, reference books, paperbacks, cookbooks and coffee table books. Also available will be many kinds of audiovisual material, including DVDs, CDs, vinyl and audiobooks.

Join as a Friend of the Brentwood Library and get a head start on the sale, with early entrance from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday morning, an hour before the general public. Membership forms are always available at the library circulation desk, or join on the spot at the book sale. Annual membership starts at $20.

Sale hours will be Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (members in good standing can start shopping at 9 a.m.), Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday (half-price day) from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Prices for all items range from 50 cents to $3, with some vintage books and DVDs priced slightly higher. For teachers looking to beef up their classroom collections, children’s books range from 50 cents to $2. Sunday is Half-Price Day on everything that is left.

All the funds raised from the book sale are used by the Friends of the Brentwood Library to support the library. The money is used to purchase additional books, materials, technology and special equipment, and to support staff development and library programs like summer reading and exam nights.

The John P. Holt Brentwood Library is located at 8109 Concord Road in Brentwood.
