Thomas Lister

Rev. Thomas Mosie Lister, age 93 of Spring Hill, Tenn., passed away Feb. 12, 2015.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII.

Rev. Lister was a world-renowned songwriter of such songs as ‘Til The Storm Passes By and Where No One Stands Alone, member of the GMA Hall of Fame.

He is preceded in death by parents, Willis and Pearl Holland Lister; brother, Walter Olan Lister and wife, Wylene Whitten Lister.

He is survived by wife of 13 years, Martha Jean Lister; daughters, Brenda Lister (Jimmie) Vann & Barbara Lister (David) Williams; step-daughter, Vicki (Michael) Booth; sister, Margery Dillashaw and seven grandchildren.

A Homegoing Celebration Concert will take place 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015 at the People’s Church, 828 Murfreesboro Rd. Franklin, Pastor Mike Stalnaker officiating.

Private graveside service will take place at Williamson Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Steve Mauldin, Michael Booth, Ronnie Booth, Jim Brady, Josh Butterworth and Jake Simmons. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Gaither, Joe Huffman, Ron Booth, David Williams and Jimmie Vann. Memorials may be made to the Community Baptist Church c/o Missions and Music, 3015 Bellshire Village Dr. Spring Hill, TN.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday at WILLIAMSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 615-794-2289.
