Downtown Franklin has two new restaurants open for business.
At The Harpeth Hotel on 1st Avenue and East Main Street, McGavock’s Coffee Br & Provisions and 1799 Kitchen & Cocktails are both fully open and operational.
Project developer Rod Heller said construction issues have delayed the hotel’s official opening, originally set for late summer. He now anticipates the hotel to hold an open house-style event in the late winter or early spring.
The 119-room Hilton Curio hotel is just one part of the Harpeth Square development downtown. The project, which had a $105 million price tag, also includes a 597-space parking structure, 150 apartments and office space.
The 1799 Kitchen is helmed by former Georgia “Restauranteur of the Year” Jay Swift and Executive Chef Cassie Upshaw. The cuisine is described as modern American, with a menu including a range of steaks, seafood and locally sourced produce and dairy, while the bar features an extensive selection of whiskies. Brunch is served daily from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., and dinner is served from 5-10 p.m.
McGavock’s Coffee Bar is a European-style café serving pastries, desserts, sandwiches and salads, as well as fresh pressed juice, coffee from local Honest Roasters and a range of wine, beer, cocktails and aperitifs. Hours are 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Reservations for the hotel will be available beginning Dec. 12 on the Hilton website.
