Morton-Brittain House

The Morton-Brittain House in Nolensville before it was moved to its current location in the town's historic district.

The Nolensville Historical Society is hosting a week-long online auction to raise funds for Nolensville’s Historic Morton-Brittain House.

The Oct. 5-11 event is dubbed “Keep the Home Fires Burning” and provides an opportunity for local businesses to advertise while helping rebuild one of only three homes in Nolensville on the National Register of Historic Places.

Proceeds from the auction will go to restore the home’s six fireplaces with many of the original bricks from its former location on Nolensville Road. Items include gift certificates, jewelry, gift baskets, tour and show tickets, and more from Nolensville businesses.

To bid, go to http://www.biddingowl.com.

Local citizens and businesses have pitched in to help move and restore the 1870 home through a successful GoFundMe fundraising effort. It now resides in Nolensville’s historic district.

The fundraiser allowed the Historical Society in 2019 to set the home’s foundation and restore its roof.

The Nolensville Historical Society has a booth at the Nolensville Farmers Market every Saturday where donations to the Morton-Brittain House can be made.
