Centennial grad elected VP of Ole Miss student body

Centennial High alumna Morgan Lyn Gregory was recently elected vice president of the 2013-14 Associated Student Body at the University of Mississippi.

A junior integrated marketing communications major in the Meek School of Journalism and New Media, Gregory is a Provost Scholar and a former ASB Cabinet Member of the Month.

Winning the recent election is “by far the biggest honor I have achieved so far in life,” she said.

Committed to serving others, she has reached out into the community as a volunteer tutor for fi rst-graders. On campus, she has been a mentor to the Freshman Council and counselor for younger students.

“I think it’s very important to make sure everyone feels welcome and knows how they can make the most of their four years, both by example and friendship,” she said.

She said she chose to enroll at Ole Miss “because it offered the perfect combination of academic excellence in my desired field of journalism and SEC sports, in a family-oriented community.

“My classes are very hands-on and make me so excited to think that one day I’ll be able to apply what I’m learning to a job I will get to go to every day,” she said.

Gregory is the daughter of Franklin’s Johnny and Lisa Gregory.
