RHS seniors build homecoming float

In celebration of homecoming, seniors from Ravenwood High School gathered last night to complete their float with the theme, “Export the Eagles” – the Independence High School Eagles.
With stapling guns, hammers, nails and glue in hand, seniors worked until the late evening to complete the masterpiece comprised of many mechanical features much as a spinning propeller, an eagle that pops out of a box and even a bit of smoke for a dramatic touch.
Bryce Svenson, senior class vice-president said that he thinks the senior class has a good chance of winning the float competition today.
“I love the design. We have a lot of moving parts on the float that everyone worked very hard to engineer, “ Svenson said.
The Homecoming Parade, including a float contest, will begin at 10 a.m. at the school today. The football game, RHS v. IHS will be at 7 p.m. with a homecoming dance to follow.
