Senior Allison Cheeseman awarded Davidson Colleges Norris scholarship

Brentwood Academy senior Allison Cheeseman has received notice from Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina, that she is the recipient of the Amos Norris Scholarship, which is awarded only once every four years.  
 
The scholarship criteria is for a top academic student with leadership abilities and a strong work ethic who also has potential to be a Southern Conference champion athlete.  Cheeseman is a two-time TSSAA D-II girls’ cross country state champion.
 
Cheeseman states she “is honored to be chosen and is excited about studying and running at Davidson.” She will run cross country under Davidson coach Jen Straub.
Allison’s mother, Cathy Cheeseman, is the Brentwood Academy cross country coach.
 
According to Brentwood Academy College Counselor Shelley Miller, Cheeseman “is the teenager that everyone else wants to become.  She is grounded in what she believes and passionate about and successful in everything she does.”
 
Cheeseman will enroll at Davidson College for the fall semester, 2014.
