Sister Cities announces countries and beer servers for International Beer Tasting
Sister Cities of Franklin and Williamson County announces the ten countries that will be featured at the International Beer Tasting event on Oct. 12 from 5 to 8 p.m. in downtown Franklin. The international beer tasting is part of the sixth annual Celebration of Nations being held for the first time in downtown Franklin on Fourth Avenue and in the alley behind Main Street by the 4th Ave. parking garage.
Twenty beers from ten countries will be served at the International Beer Tasting. Tickets are on sale now at www.sistercitiestn.org. The tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door and include a commemorative beer tasting glass. The tasting will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Ticket holders will get a commemorative Celebration of Nations beer tasting mug when they get to the event. Proceeds from the event support Sister Cities student exchange, cultural education and the Celebration of Nations event.
Downtown restaurants are participating by hosting one of the ten tasting tents in the global alley way in between Main Street and the 4th Avenue parking garage.
Participating businesses include: Music City Dog House serving brews from England; Zolos serving Italian beer; Pucketts Boathouse serving beer from the Netherlands, the Williamson Source serving Jamaican beer, Mark Cornelius with Nationwide Payment Solutions serving Canadian beer, Mark Cook, editor of the Williamson A.M. serving beer from Japan; Grays serving beer from Ireland; Bob Parks serving Mexican beer; the Franklin Noon Rotary serving Belgium brews and Pucketts serving German beer.
The Franklin Transit Authority will offer the Transit on Demand twilight service for safe rides home. The service is in Franklin City limits only and people must call at least 72 hours in advance to schedule their pick-up and return. The cost is only $6 per round trip.
