BancorpSouth Bank (NYSE: BXS) has hired Brian Young as a senior vice president and team leader within its Corporate Commercial and Industrial (C&I) and Syndications Department with responsibilities over Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia.
In his new role, Young will oversee the department’s new product lines for Upper Middle Market companies with revenue between $500 million and $1.5 billion per year and companies owned or backed by financial sponsors, such as private equity firms, hedge funds and family funds.
Prior to joining BancorpSouth, Young gained extensive banking industry experience and led several high-impact initiatives for his previous employer, including creating a specialty finance team, starting a loan production office and serving as a relationship manager for the bank’s operations in several states. He most recently managed the C&I group credit team at a large national bank of Tennessee and Mississippi, where he supervised portfolio monitoring/underwriting, provided guidance in credit structuring and oversaw regulatory reporting requirements.
Young graduated with high honors from the University of Illinois in Champaign, Illinois, with a degree in finance. He enjoys volunteering with local organizations, such as Second Harvest Food Bank, Hands On Nashville and Habitat for Humanity.
