Herban Market expands restaurant space to offer breakfast, lunch and dinner

Herban Market celebrated its restaurant expansion on Tuesday with fellow staff, friends and Williamson, Inc. chamber ambassadors.

Located in Gateway Village, Herban Market is an all-organic, healthy grocery store and restaurant in Franklin. Everything sold in the store is “clean food,” which means it is free of  GMOs, artificial coloring, artificial sweeteners and chemicals.

After extensive research, Herban Market founders Ashlea and Matt Hogancamp relocated from Houston, Texas, in 2015 and invested everything they had into filling a void in Williamson County.

The void is running a business that practices “clean sourcing,” which means purchasing all items offered in the store from local organic farms.

“We started Herban Market just as parents and consumers who wanted really clean, quality foods and products,” Ashlea Hogancamp said. “We weren’t finding that elsewhere.”

The couple has been overwhelmed with how much the community has embraced their vision for clean eating. The support has led Herban Market to grow its staff to 50.

“This is so beyond what we ever could have imagined,” Ashlea Hogancamp said.

The expanded restaurant at Herban Market has been open for approximately two weeks offering breakfast, lunch and dinner options.

“We do things differently than most restaurants do,” Matt Hogancamp said. “We source all our local meats from local farms.”

He said some of the most popular items so far have been the Argentinian skirt steak, tacos and burgers.

“It’s quality; whether you care about quality, or if you just care about flavors, we’re hitting both,” Ashlea Hogancamp said.

Although it can be hard to source organic products locally, the couple is dedicated to the mission of quality and clean eating.

“Our food system in America is pretty bad,” Ashlea Hogancamp said. “It’s pretty corrupt. It’s pretty toxic. I think that a lot of people are experiencing issues with that, and it’s been reinforced since we’ve been open.

“We’re a magnet for people searching for clean.”

Herban Market is located at 3078 Maddux Way. For more information, go to https://www.herban-market.com.
