PNC Bank opens solution center in Franklin

Solution center model the ‘next generation’ for banking, PNC believes

PNC Bank officially opened its doors for business in Cool Springs on Tuesday at 1556 W. McEwen Drive.

This is the bank’s first Tennessee location, known as a “solution center,” and the first of three PNC Solution Centers planned for the Nashville region by year-end. The solution center allows customers to interact with staff for individual consultation about their personal needs and financial goals, as well as one-on-one demonstrations of PNC’s digital banking technology.

In September, a solution center in Hendersonville is scheduled to open, followed by the debut of a location on the ground level of the recently opened tower at 1200 Broadway in downtown Nashville.

PNC Regional President Mike Johnson has spent 23 years in the Nashville banking industry. He said PNC is committed for the long term to the entire state, including Williamson County. 

“It’s a great community and lots of great relationships here in Williamson County, and it just made sense to open our first retail location here,” Johnson said. “We’re absolutely committed to building relationships here in Williamson County. We’re here for the long term.”

Aside from banking, Johnson said PNC Bank is also committed to investing in community nonprofits such as Second Harvest Food Bank, Tennessee Performing Arts Center and the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville.

“This expansion into Tennessee is incredibly important to our franchise,” Johnson said. “We’re dedicated to our commitment to helping and investing in the communities we serve.”

Banking electronically has been on the rise, and PNC has invested in technology in its solution centers that makes the experience easier for its clients. 

With everyone facing new challenges related to the coronavirus pandemic, the way people bank has also changed, Johnson explained. 

“With the advancements in technology today, combined with the environment that we’re living in, it’s just natural that people have a higher reliance on finding new ways to transact business; it’s electronic,” Johnson said. “This is the next generation of how retail and consumer customers will transact business.”

Some of the solution center features include: 

• PNC ATM and Banking Kiosk – Self-service capabilities for deposits, withdrawals and other bank transactions

• Advanced Technology – Screen-mirroring capabilities from customers’ phones or tablets, projecting to large plasma screens for hands-on demonstrations of PNC apps or a shoulder-to-shoulder guided digital experience

• Work Stations of the Future – Mobile PNC consultants will carry portable tablets to work with customers wherever they are most comfortable within the Solution Center

• Conversational Gathering Spaces – Furniture that feels like home – sofas, high-top kitchen tables and rounded tables – will encourage side-by-side conversations in a more relaxed and comfortable setting
