Visit Franklin adds director of sales and digital brand manager

Visit Franklin has added Brendan Johansen and Courtney Wanamaker to its staff. 

Johansen joins as director of sales, leading all sales activities and the sales team at Visit Franklin, which collectively works closely with and recruits the multitude of meetings, events, sports events, motor coach tours and more that choose to host their events in Williamson County. 

Wanamaker joins as the digital brand manager, where she will lead Visit Franklin’s presence across multiple platforms, including the website, social media and digital advertising campaigns. 

“Brendan and Courtney both come to Visit Franklin with a breadth of knowledge and experience that make them incredible assets to our team,” Visit Franklin President and CEO Ellie Westman Chin said. “Brendan’s background both in and outside the hospitality field gives him a unique perspective that will be invaluable to meeting and event planners across the country, as well as the local partners he’ll be working with daily. Courtney comes with a broad range of traditional and digital marketing experience that will not just keep Visit Franklin seen as one of the digital leaders in the travel industry, but also push us to be even more innovative going forward.”

Prior to joining Visit Franklin, Johansen was an account executive with Houzz, the leading online platform for home remodeling and design, and served as both a business relations manager and complaint and investigation specialist for the Better Business Bureau. He began his career in the Middle Tennessee area as the front office manager of the Omni Hotel in downtown Nashville, managing it through its grand opening in 2013 and training front desk staff. In his time with the Omni, he was also awarded the prestigious Omni Service Champion Award.

Wanamaker comes to Visit Franklin having worked as the director of marketing at Naxos of America. In her time there, she began as the manager of online media and brand strategy where she built online campaigns and strategies for new products, album releases, concert events and more before being elevated to director. She also has experience as a marketing coordinator and strategist with Industrial Strength Marketing, CoreCommerce and Dawson McAllister Productions, helping elevate the digital and online strategies for each of their clients.
