Franklin resident Kim Henderson has submitted her application for the 12th District Williamson County Board of Education seat to 12th District Williamson County Commissioners Steve Smith and Dana Ausbrooks.
A graduate of University of California at San Diego, Henderson was a double major in Physiology and Economics. She has been an independent Longaberger consultant since 1998 and has been a member of the Tennessee State Parent Teacher Association since 2015.
“In my past PTA experience in Wisconsin, I served as president and also as acting treasurer, among other positions, and have had an opportunity to manage budgets and legal issues,” Henderson said in her letter to the commissioners.
Henderson has two children who attended public school. Her daughter is a senior in college and her son, who has special needs, graduated from Page High School in May.
“We moved to Williamson County in May of 2015 and I have been actively involved in the Tennessee PTA and feel comfortable with the educational setting in Tennessee,” Henderson said.
Franklin residents Nancy Garrett and Sandra Juarez also submitted their applications for the seat before the Sept. 23 deadline. Ausbrooks said she and Smith will vet the candidates and hope to make a nomination in time for the Oct. 10 Williamson County Commission meeting.
