Habitat for Humanity has announced the dates for its Hammers & High Heels fundraiser for its 2021 Women Build.
Searria Peoples and her four children will partner with Habitat for Humanity to build their new home in Columbia, and the goal is to raise $70,000 to pay for the home’s “bricks and sticks.”
The Hammers & High Heels online auction kickoff will be held May 10 with a virtual broadcast of the event May 20 at 7 p.m. The silent auction will end May 20, and there will also be “Stock the Cellar” wine pulls sponsored by Arrington Vineyards, a “Best Hammer or High Heel” photo contest on social media and more. Sponsorship packages are also available.
The Women Build will be smaller this year with limited volunteer opportunities in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build empowers women to take the hammer and take the lead to help lower-income families in their own community build and purchase safe, affordable housing.
