Pfizer COVID-19 booster now available through county health department

The Williamson County Health Department administers the COVID-19 vaccine at the Williamson County Agricultural Expo Center in Franklin.

The Williamson County Health Department began offering booster doses of COVID-19 vaccines to certain populations on Monday. 

The health department only has the Pfizer vaccine available. COVID-19 vaccine booster doses are available Monday-Friday from 1-3 p.m. at the Williamson County Agriculture Center. Appointments are encouraged but not required.

For individuals who received a Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, the following groups are eligible for a booster shot at six months or longer after they complete the initial series: 

• 65 years and older 

• Age 18 and older who live in long-term care settings 

• Age 18 and older who have underlying medical conditions 

• Age 18 and older who work or live in high-risk settings 

COVID Boosters

The Williamson County Health Department is now offering booster doses of COVID-19 vaccines to certain populations.

Individuals who are 18 years and older and received the single-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine are recommended to get a booster two or more months after their initial vaccine. 

Eligible individuals may choose which vaccine they receive as a booster dose. More information on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s recommendation for a booster dose is available online at www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html.  

Booster vaccines are also widely available from pharmacies, medical clinics and other sites. Individuals are encouraged to check www.vaccines.gov to find a location that is offering their preferred COVID-19 vaccine.
