Dr. Elizabeth Lindsey, a gastroenterologist with the Williamson Medical Group, seemed to nearly run out of breath in describing the work environment of her new location at Physicians Plaza on the Williamson Medical Center campus.

She and others from her office and WMC joined staff from Williamson Inc. and chamber ambassadors Tuesday in a ribbon cutting to celebrate her new office space in Franklin.

“Williamson Medical Center is such a special place,” Lindsey said to the crowd on hand for the ceremony. “I’ve never been around such enthusiastic, caring, dedicated, organized, professional … it’s no wonder patients are so satisfied and get taken care of so well here. It’s all because of the employees.

“I couldn’t be more honored to be a part of it.”

Lindsey — as well as her nurse practitioner, Janet Daily, and nurse of the last three years, Jason Henderson, and other office staff — relocated to the WMC campus May 21 from the previous location in Tollgate Medical Plaza in Thompson’s Station.

“In addition to being closer to many of my patients, this move will also make it more convenient for me to treat inpatients at Williamson Medical Center, as well as those in the Outpatient Surgery Center,” Lindsey said in a press release announcing her relocation.

The move is also beneficial for the community at large, according to Williamson Inc. President and CEO Matt Largen.

“The opening of this office represents an opportunity to bring in a service that wasn’t previously available in the Williamson Medical Center gastroenterology,” he said. “It just provides another option for people to get a service locally instead of having to drive to Nashville or another community.

“It’s also a transportation and service issue. The more health care services you provide in a community, close to where people live and work, the better it is for traffic congestion. This is a great thing for the community to have.”

Lindey’s practice is located at 100 Covey Drive, Suite 304, in Franklin. Patients may reach the office by calling 615-791-2330 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
