Franktown car recipient, Alexis Ketterman

Centennial High School senior Alexis Ketterman was given a car by Franktown Open Hearts because of her work ethic and excellence in all she does in school, work and as a mentor at Franktown. The car will help her to get to her job and many after school activities in which she is involved.

Franktown Open Hearts is excited to host its 11th annual Fundraiser Dinner on Monday, Sept. 9 at the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs in Franklin.

Franktown's Annual Dinner highlights the accomplishments of the inner city youth served by Franktown. During the program, there will be a very special surprise when Franktown marks a milestone by giving away its 30th car to a most-deserving young lady.

Founded in 2002 by Wayne Howell, Franktown Open Hearts seeks to reach out and break the cycle of generational poverty for youth in Franklin. Franktown Open Hearts hosts programming six days per week, during which inner city youth are fed, learn new skills and have the opportunity to learn about Jesus.

This event raises about a third of their programming budget for the upcoming year and is crucial to the success of their ministry.

“This event is so important to the life of our ministry,” said Director of Program Operations Crystal Tinnon. “The kids have been rehearsing for months and are so excited to meet and interact with donors and guests. We have been able to keep the car giveaway under wraps and cannot wait to see the expression on the face of the young lady we are giving it away to.”

The event will take place at the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs, located at 700 Cool Springs Blvd. in Franklin, on Monday, Sept. 9. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the event will conclude at 8:30 p.m.
