The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence in Franklin residents recently worked hard to create craft bags for patients at St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
The memory care community’s residents put together the supplies and instructions for individual crafts that patients can work on while waiting for appointments or treatments.
Each bag will be sent to a care coordinator for use throughout the hospital.
“While talking about what is important in her life, Ellie shared her passion for fundraising for St. Jude,” Lantern Executive Director and Programs Director Ashley Briggs said. “Each year, she would participate in a bridge tournament to help raise the funds for the hospital. To help Ellie continue to give to an organization that is dear to her, we came up with the idea of creating craft bags. Our residents have so much to contribute and are eager to give back.”
