Residents at Franklin’s Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence get a few cute guests every Sunday.

The Lantern receives weekly special animal guests in order to provide pet therapy for the residents, including dogs from a local organization.

“We are indebted to a local group of volunteers who take turns each week bringing friendly dogs to visit with residents and staff,” Lantern Executive Director Ashley Briggs said. “Residents always look forward to their visits, and pet therapy has been shown to help to reduce anxiety, engage residents at all stages and help connect residents to guests and staff.”
