SLIDESHOW: Flags of Honor at Veterans Memorial Plaza

Approximately 300 flags were erected as part of the third annual Patriots’ Day Celebration, America Remembers Flags of Honor Program, held on Sept. 9 at Veterans Memorial Plaza in downtown Franklin.
The flags represent the Tennessee soldiers who have died in Iraq and Afghanistan since Sept. 11, 2001, and are being flown in a field called America Remembers Flags of Honor.

Additional flags will be displayed honoring the emergency personnel who died as a result of the attacks on 9/11/01 as well as for active or retired military personnel who are being honored by family or friends.

The flags will remain on display until Sunday, Sept. 17.
