The African American Heritage Society held its sixth annual Black Tie Affair; African American Businesses: Then and Now Friday, Feb. 2 at the Embassy Suites in Cool Springs.
The gala featured State Sen. Thelma Harper as the emcee. “I have Brentwood blood in me. I have Williamson County blood in me. When we come to Williamson County, it is like coming home.” The Black Tie Affair is the major fundraiser for the McLemore House, the African American Museum. Awards were given in various categories, honoring individuals and businesses.
