New York Fashion Week comes to Franklin a few days early on Jan. 31 with the second annual “A Fashion Affair,” presented as part of A Vintage Affair.
Those attending the event will be transported figuratively to NYC via the stage in Jamison Hall at The Factory at Franklin.
A Vintage Affair is an organization whose mission is to provide a significant financial contribution to a nonprofit organization whose services benefit the community at large.
To date, A Vintage Affair has contributed close to three quarters of a million dollars to worthy organizations in Williamson County. Past beneficiaries include Mercy Children’s Clinic, The 100 Club of Franklin, BRIDGES, The Williamson County Child Advocacy Center, the Williamson County Library Foundation, Williamson County Youth, and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Williamson Medical Center.
A Fashion Affair begins with a leisurely cocktail reception and moves into a runway show which will feature native Southern designers, who will be revealed in a few days.
The cocktail reception will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the runway show will commence at 8 p.m. Heavy hors d'oeuvres will be provided by Sperry’s Restaurant and wine provided by Mallory Lane Wine and Spirits.
A limited number of Patron’s Front Row VIP reservations will be available for $100 per person, and will include easy check-in, special front row seating and a VIP Goody Bag. General Admission reservations are available for $50 per person. They will include first-come, first-serve seating and a goody bag.
Organizers are keeping it local with the goody bag, which will be from Memory Clothes Planner and features five padded hangers and hanger covers to record when and where you wore an outfit,.
The runway show is being produced by Robert Campbell of the Nashville Fashion Group.
“I found Robert Campbell and the Nashville Fashion Group by the grace of God and by simply Googling the Internet,” said Lauren Magli, event chair. “I had been given the task of coordinating a fashion show, something I have no experience with, and was looking for some help!
“I found Robert and after I told him about A Vintage Affair and the show, he was immediately on board. He’s been absolutely instrumental in finding the designers, models, hair and make-up, and planning the overall flow of the show,” Magli said.
“Since New York Fashion week starts the Monday after A Fashion Affair, we really wanted to give our show a New York feel, as a sneak preview leading up to the real deal.”
A Fashion Affair is made possible through the support of many corporate friends, and countless caring individuals. A Fashion Affair is generously being underwritten by Memory Clothes Planner, The Drury Group, Inc., Ward-Potts Jewelers, and Whats-in-store.
Other contributing sponsors include: Sperry’s Restaurant, Mallory Lane Wine and Spirits, FranklinIs, Nashville Lifestyles, VIP Williamson County, Williamson Herald, The Premier Event, Unruli Salon, Klatt2Design, and Shi by Journey’s.
