FOURTH OF JULY: Brentwood, Nolensville plan events

Looking for a way to celebrate the Fourth of July? Cities and towns across Williamson County have events planned.

Brentwood plans annual July 4 event  at Crockett Park

The city of Brentwood is sponsoring its 22nd annual July 4 Celebration. The event will be held at the Eddy Arnold Amphitheater in Crockett Park from 7-10:30 p.m.  Admission is free to the community.

Entertainment will be provided by Paul Ross and the “The Kadillacs.” They are a professional group of four vocalists and a 13-piece band combined with a powerhouse horn section and four-piece rhythm section.

They perform any style music from the 1940s Big Band era through the incredibly popular standards of the 1960s and 1970s to the more sophisticated hits of today.

The Kadillacs’ performance begins at 7 p.m., followed by fireworks at 9 p.m. The Kadillacs will play a second set at 9:30 p.m.
Parking is limited in Crockett Park. The community is encouraged to park at the Library or River Park and use the bikeway. Residents that live in nearby subdivisions are asked to walk or ride bikes to the park.

At 8:45 pm, to help with traffic control, the following streets will be designated as one-way traffic: Crockett Road from the park to Wilson Pike; Wilson Pike from Crockett Road to Moores Lane; and Wilson Pike from Crockett Road to Concord Road.
The following streets will be closed to traffic in the direction listed below: Wilson Pike at Concord Road closed to southbound traffic; Wilson Pike at Moores Lane closed to northbound traffic; and Crockett Road at Volunteer Parkway closed to eastbound traffic.
Entry into Crockett Park by car will stop at 8:30 p.m.

The festival is planned as a family affair with music, dancing, food and fireworks for everyone. Attendees may bring picnic baskets. Rain date for fireworks will be Sunday, July 5, 9 p.m. at Crockett Park.

To commemorate the city of Brentwood’s 40th anniversary of incorporation, and Leadership Brentwood’s 20th anniversary, Leadership Brentwood is selling Brentwood 40th anniversary T-shirts. Cost of the red shirts is $15. Shirts are available in adult and youth sizes at the Brentwood Cool Springs Chamber and Puffy Muffin in Brentwood, and at the Sunday evening concerts at Crockett Park.

Everyone wearing the commemorative shirt to the July 4 concert at Crockett will be included in a photo to be taken that night. In addition, we are encouraging people in the community to show their civic pride by wearing the red shirts around town on Friday, June 26.

Sponsors of the shirts are: BancorpSouth, Puffy Muffin, Pump-It-Up, and the Williamson County Convention and Visitors Bureau; in-kind sponsors are Tom A Promotions, and the City of Brentwood.
