BREAKING NEWS: Results of Franklin Aldermanic races

With 100 percent of the 21 precincts reporting at 8 p.m., unofficial results of the races for Alderman in Franklin were reported moments later.
In Ward 1, Beverly Burger received 420 votes to Garry Neal’s 145. Burger’s win represents a little more than 74 percent of the total votes cast for the Ward 1 contest.
Dana McLendon ran unopposed in Ward 2 and received 106 votes. There were 4 write-in votes.
In Ward 3, Michael Skinner finished first with 430 votes and 46 percent of the vote with Greg Caesar receiving 392 and 41 percent of the votes. Scott Ware garnered 85 votes, while 35 voters cast their ballots for Jason Thomas Destein.
Ward 4 voters responded with 77 percent of their votes or 649 for Margaret Martin. Thomas Smithson received 199 votes representing 23 percent.
Early voters cast 1,064 ballots and Election Day saw only 1,384 voters cast at the polling places.
Franklin has 40,817 registered voters, whose 2,474 ballots cast represent only 6.06 percent as having voted in this election.
Official results will be certified by the Franklin Election Board in a week.
