Williamson County Women's Council of Realtors elects officers

Williamson County Women's Council of Realtors (WCR) installed its 2010 officers at the October meeting.
Elections for the positions were held in August. Interestingly enough there really wasn't much of a change. Jean Marie Grumbles of EXIT Realty stepped down from the presidency as Vicki Oczkowicz of Bob Parks was sworn in. Three of the remaining four offices kept the same officers. Michelle Chrest of Keller Williams remained treasurer, Cindy Baxter Smith of Cobalt Realty remained vice president of membership, and Candice Lannin of EXIT Realty King and Associates remained as secretary.
The only new member to the board was Jeremy Flax, broker and owner of EXIT Realty of the South in Franklin. Flax stepped in as president elect for 2010.
“Having the continuity of officers will be a huge benefit to our chapter next year. No matter how good the training or how well the outgoing officer prepares a new officer there is always a learning curve,” Grumbles said. “We have just eliminated that with most of our board which will allow for even greater success next year."
“This governing board has been tremendous. I really could not have done it without them. They are all very hard workers and care about people and the real estate profession as a whole," she said.
Roma Edmonds, 2009 state governor for Women's Council of Realtors, came to Brentwood to install the officers. Edmonds is from the Knoxville area and has been involved with Women's Council for over 15 years. She gave roses to past presidents who attend the installation and recognized everyone's hard work, especially in this changing market.
The Women's Council is open to all Realtors, men and women, as well as affiliates and guests. Women's Council was established across the country to help empower women in the real estate industry to become leaders and role models.
