Williamson County teams brought home 10 of a possible 12 Tennessee Youth Football Alliance State Championships Saturday, with Brentwood grabbing four and Franklin and Nolensville both winning three.
Franklin’s B-Blue Cowboys started the hardware collection, stopping the B-Silver Cowboys five times inside the 20-yard line then scoring with less than a minute remaining to capture the title 8-0.
The Cowboys maintained a perfect title game record throughout the day, as the CC Cowboys beat Bordeaux 13-6 and the A-Blue Cowboys defeated the Blaze’s A-Gold squad 28-22.
The A division loss was one of only two suffered by Brentwood, as the Blaze BBB team marched over Mount Juliet 38-6. Brentwood swept their B division games, as the BB team stopped Murfreesboro 20-8 and the B-Red team shut out Murfreesboro’s B-White team 15-0. The AA Blaze team won a title in a low scoring slug fest, beating Bordeaux 6-0 in overtime.
Brentwood’s AAA team lost a hard-fought battle to Bordeaux, 26-16.
The Nolensville Panthers went 3-0, with the B squad beating Grassland 31-18 and the BBB outscored Shelbyville 21-14. The AAA team outscored Eastside 48-20.
The Golden Eagles of Grassland had one other opportunity for a BB championship, but fell in a heart breaker, 6-0 to Hendersonville.
