 2009 Sizzle Awards spotlight county’s favorite businesses

From cuisine to entertainment, to shopping to service-based businesses to health and wellness and personal care, businesses across the county are sporting another framed Sizzle Award. After all the online votes were cast by customers and tallied by sponsors from Southern Exposure magazine and FranklinIs online, Monday the 2009 Sizzle Awards were announced.
In the fourth annual Sizzle Awards, where the community gets a chance to choose their favorite businesses – located in Williamson County, of course – more than 90 establishments received a first-, second- or third-place People’s Choice Award during a reception held in their honor.
Puckett’s in Franklin appeared to be the overall people’s choice walking away with a record eight awards; six first-place, one second- and one third-place awards.
“It’s really humbling – these are our customers voting,” said Andy Marshall, co-owner of Puckett’s in Franklin.
A Moment's Peace Salon and Day Spa took four first place awards.
Moody’s Tire & Auto Repair, which is celebrating 66 years in business on April 1, took home the first place award for Best Auto Repair for the fourth year in a row. Jim & Debbie Moody were humbled by the award.
“We are very honored to have the respect from the older people who have been with us for many years and the younger people who are computer savvy enough to vote for us,” Jim Moody said.
Taking back to the office the trophy for Best Health & Fitness Center, Doug Hood, director of Williamson County Parks & Recreation said, “It’s great – it’s wonderful to know the residents appreciate the work we do.”
