William Candler, obituary
William Roy Candler, 76, of Nashville, Tenn., died June 15, 2012.
He was a member of Nashville Grace Church of the Nazarene and was a retired ordained Nazarene Minister with his Doctorate in Theology. Mr. Candler is a former professor and Vice-President of Emmanuel Bible College in Nashville. He also is a former Chaplain with Davidson Co. Sheriffs Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Pearl Candler; wife, Mildred Jones Candler; great grandson, Emmitt Candler Andrews. Mr. Candler is survived by sons, Jim Candler of Murfreesboro, Tenn. and Jerry (Pilar) Candler of Columbia, Tenn.; daughter, Donna (Rick) Peak of Nashville, Tenn.; brother, Clyde (Ann) Candler of Nashville, Tenn.; sister, Wanda (Cecil) Perry of Nashville, TN; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted June 17, 2012 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Rick Peak officiating. Interment was in Johnson Hollow Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Larry, Richard, Tim and Herbert Jones, Bill Davis and Doug Johnson. Honorary pallbearers were pastors and ministers of the TN District of the Church of the Nazarene.
Memorials may be made to the Johnson Hollow Cemetery Fund.
Arrangements are by Williamson Memorial Funeral Home in Franklin.
