I-65 completely reopened after morning crash investigation

Emergency responders from Franklin were summoned to I-65 north near McEwen for a serious injury crash that occurred shortly after 5:30 a.m. today. According to a Franklin Police Department report, the accident occurred when the driver of a semi rear-ended a small red car.

“All three occupants of that car, a 66-year-old man, and two women – 62 and 50 – are from Alabama. They were transported to Vanderbilt with serious injuries. The driver of the semi, also from Alabama, was uninjured, said Sgt. Charles Warner, Franklin Police Department Public Information Officer.

The Department’s Critical Incident Response Team, comprised of traffic reconstructionists, is investigating and charges have not yet been filed.
