Local young lady competes for The Miss Jr. Teen Nashville title
Alexis Williams, of Brentwood, was recently selected to participate in the 2012 Miss Jr. Teen Nashville pageant competition that will take place Sunday, Sept. 23. Alexis learned of her acceptance into this year's competition when the pageant announced their selections following interviewing in the local Nashville area. She submitted an application and took part in an interview session that was conducted by this year's Nashville Pageant Coordinator.
Alexis will be competing for a share of thousands of dollars in prizes and specialty gifts that will be distributed to contestants. She will compete in the Miss Jr. Teen division, one of four divisions that will have young ladies ages 7 to 19 competing in modeling routines, which include casual wear and formal wear. Most importantly, Alexis will display her personality and interviewing skills while interviewing with this year's Nashville judging panel. Personality is the No. 1 aspect that each contestant is judged on during all phases of competition.
If she is victorious in her quest for the title of Miss Jr. Teen Nashville, she will represent Nashville and the surrounding communities at the National Competition that will take place in Orlando, Fla. More than $30,000 in prizes and awards will be presented at the National Competition while each winner enjoys this expense paid trip of five nights and six days in Orlando.
Alexis is able to participate in their year’s competition upon obtaining her official sponsors. Her sponsors are Johnny Turner – Crown Jewelry and Gifts in Franklin, Tenn., Parks Motor Sales in Columbia, Tenn., Doris Read Taylor and Cheryl Read her special grandmother and aunt. Through sponsorship, each contestant receives all the necessary training, rehearsals, and financial support that will allow Alexis to become a very confident and well-prepared contestant in this year's Nashville Pageant.
