Franklin 4 the Cure

More than 650 adult runners and several hundred children participated in the Franklin 4 the Cure 5K and 1K runs Saturday held in Westhaven to raise funds for children’s cancer research. The event had a family-friendly festival atmosphere with plenty of games, face painting and activities for the kids, a pancake breakfast for all along with the 5K and two children’s runs – the Cooper Erby Fun Run for kids under age 6 and the Lilly Rocket Run for ages 7-12.
The top three runners age 6 and under were: Female – Harris Cleveland, Allison O’Connor and Grayson Becker; Male – A.J. Stacey, Tristin Wallace and Luke Ares.
The top three runners in the age 7-12 age group were: Female – Sydney Heifner, Ella Whatley, and Samantha Ude; Male – Preston Garner, Will Stacey and Easton Watts.
Top three adult runners were: Female – Mandy Oakes, Rhonda Hammett, Karen Yilas; Male – Nazarewicz Rafal with a time of 18:26, Andy Russell and Nathan Hawkins.
