Dr. Raymond Jones, obituary
Dr. Raymond Wayne Jones, 59, of Richmond, Ky. died April 28, 2012.
He was born Jan. 14, 1953 in Ludlow, Ky.
Dr Jones received his Associate Degree from Eastern Kentucky University, Bachelors Degree from Northern Kentucky University, Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky.
He began his ministry at Erlanger Baptist Church, Erlanger Ky. He later served at Crievewood Baptist Church, Nashville, Tenn., First Baptist Church, Conroe Texas, First Baptist Church Norfolk, Norfolk, Va., The People’s Church, Franklin, Tenn. and St Andrew’s Baptist Church, Panama City, Fla. At the time of his death he was President and CEO of Cutting Edge Ministries, Richmond, Ky. He had been a professor at Boyce Bible School and Williamson Christian College. He was a writer and conference leader for the Southern Baptist Convention and the author of eight books: “Understanding Your Spiritual Gifts,” “Growing an Evangelistic Sunday School,” “Gifted Connections,” “25 Habits of Highly Healthy Churches,” “Overcoming Barriers to Sunday School Growth” and “Using Spiritual Gifts.”
He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Minnie Jones. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ambrose Jones, two sons Christopher and Ryan, his brother Mark (Stephanie) Jones of Erlanger, KY, sister Sheri (Joe) Arnette of Highland Heights KY, special Aunt Lois (Al) Pack of Cold Springs KY and six nieces.
The memorial service will be held Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012 at 11 a.m. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. at Oldham Roberts and Powell Funeral Home, Richmond, Ky. with Dr. Mike James officiating.
Arrangements are by Williamson Memorial Funeral Home at Franklin.
