Lynn Anderson, Adam Fisher to perform at Viva NashVegas Radio Show at Handy Hardware, Saturday

Grammy-award winning icon Lynn Anderson and edgy country outlaw Adam Fisher are set to appear as special guests on The Viva! NashVegas Radio Show for an acoustic performance Saturday, Sept. 29 beginning at 11 a.m. The Internet radio show combines music with comedy, treating the crowd to a retro experience a la the “Louisiana Hayride.” This program is hosted by “poet, troubadour, cult hero” George Hamilton V, son of “The International Ambassador of Country Music,” 50-year Opry member George Hamilton IV. Billboard Magazine dubbed George IV: "The International Ambassador of Country Music" back in the '70s. The show is set at the back of Handy Hardware the second and fourth Saturday of the month and is sponsored by Handy Hardware and The family run store was started in 1971 and is housed in the historic 1930s Farnsworth building. Handy Hardware is located at 731 Columbia Ave., Franklin.

Earlier this year, store manager/owner Andy Willoughby, with dear friends George Hamilton V, David Spaulding Jr., and William Covington, developed the idea of a free homespun variety show. With complimentary popcorn, backscratchers, and traditional rocking chairs, the throwback experience continues to expand its audience. News of the rising show is spreading through free Internet channels such as YouTube, UStream, and Facebook.

Lynn Anderson is truly a trailblazer on the country music scene honored with Grammy, CMA, ACM, AMA and Billboard awards.  Billboard also recognized her as “Artist of the Decade” for 1970-1980.  In addition, she was the first female country singer to headline and sell out Madison Square Garden in 1974. Her signature single, “(I Never Promised You A) Rose Garden,” earned the title “Top Grossing Country Song by a Female Artist” for more than 27 years, and she has sold over 30 million albums worldwide.

Hot off the heels of his last charting single “Freight Train”, Adam is moving full speed ahead with weekly songwriting appointments and an ever-increasing tour schedule. His self-titled EP, which features three tunes co-written by Adam reflects his musical influences of Waylon Jennings, Elvis, Merle Haggard, Dave Matthews and the Zac Brown Band.  He just landed his first cut with Montgomery Gentry’s “Damn Baby.” Performing since the early age of 13, this Jacksonville, North Carolina good ‘ole boy has a rocking edge and the confidence and stage presence of a seasoned performer.

Also on the bill are country traditionalist duo, “2Country4Nashille,” gutsy country tunesmith Dawn Beyer, Michael Kelsh, the “Think Globally Act Hillbilly Orchestra,” Carol Ann Turney, Babe Curry and host George Hamilton V.
