Ransom ‘Joe’ Brent Sr., obituary
Ransom Joseph “Joe” Brent Sr., 84 of Franklin, Tenn. and Bonita Springs, Fla., died Oct. 8, 2012, in Franklin, Tenn., with his loving wife of 58 years and family by his side.
Born Oct. 2, 1928, in Nashville, Tenn., he was a member of the United States Air Force serving a tour in Japan during WWII. He was a banker for 41 years before retiring from Bank of America formerly known as Williamson County Bank where he was an executive vice president.
Mr. Brent was also, an avid golfer and historian.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louise Dudley Hassell and Henderson Cook Brent, stepfather Charles Berry Hassell, and infant daughter, Catherine Leslie Brent. Mr. Brent is survived by his wife, Catherine Hardison Brent; sons Ransom Joseph Brent Jr., Craig (Susan) Brent; grandchildren Caroline Brent, and Alex Brent all of Franklin, Tenn.; and sister Gloria Brent Ormes of Raleigh, NC.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Oct. 12, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home; Myron Keith and Jim Taylor officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, Oct. 11, 5-7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home in Franklin.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Memphis, Tenn. or Avalon Hospice of Nashville, Tenn.
Arrangements are by Williamson Memorial Funeral Home in Franklin.
