Main Library Book Sale

The Friends of the Williamson County Library will hold a book sale preview night, Wednesday, Nov. 7, for Friends members only, 5:30-7:30 p.m. To attend, bring $10 ($15 per family) to join that night and take the opportunity to buy up to 50 newly donated books of your choice before the sale opens to the public.

The book sale will open to the public, Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 8-10. Hours are:

Thursday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Prices start at 50 cents, and on Saturday books are being sold at $5 per bag. There is a huge selection of NY Times bestsellers, coffee table books, paperbacks, DVDs and more.  The sale is sponsored by Friends of the WCPL.

Thursday, Nov. 1

Art show at Martin Center

FiftyForward in the Martin Center will open to the public for its fifth annual Martin Masters presents Zoe’s Gallery of Friends art exhibition and sale featuring the works of more than 40 local artists, Nov. 1-3. The event begins with a preview part of Nov. 1 from 5 – 7:30 p.m. Visitors will get a chance to preview the art, meet the artists and enjoy hors d’oeuvres and jazz. Friday, Nov. 2 from noon to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 3 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. the gallery will be open to the public. Admission is free.

Tickets for the preview event are $35 per person.

The Martin Center is at 960 Heritage Way in Brentwood.

High Hopes presents Amy Grant & Friends

 High Hopes Inclusive Preschool and Pediatric Therapy Clinic will host the 15th annual Hats Off to High Hopes fundraiser, Thursday, Nov. 1 at 6:30 p.m.

The dinner event will be held in Liberty Hall at The Factory at Franklin. Legendary singer/songwriter Amy Grant headlines the party that will include live music, silent auction, cocktails and more. Comedian Henry Cho will entertain with his lively comedy. Chicago-tribute band Make Me Smile will also be a part of the rocking evening. Tickets are $150 each. For an additional $50, guests can mix and mingle with Amy Grant at Patrons Hour, 6-7 p.m. prior to the event at Liberty Hall.

Sunday, Nov. 4

Williamson County Community Band closes season at Craft Show

On Sunday, November 4, the Williamson County Community Band will close out the 2012 concert season with a 2 p.m. performance during the Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department’s annual Holiday Arts & Crafts Show at the Ag Expo Arena, 4215 Long Lane in Franklin. Admission is $2 and includes the craft show, an indoor classic car show and the concert.
