5k Cross Country Fun Run and Family Day, Nov. 10 at Park at Harlinsdale Farm
The City of Franklin is sponsoring its second 5k Cross Country Fun Run at the Park at Harlinsdale Farm, Saturday, Nov. 10. The Run, held in conjunction with Family Day, includes a 5k run and dog dash, and a 3k walk/K-9 Kruise. Harlinsdale is at 239 Franklin Road (across from the Factory). Registration is $20 with or without dog; $15 for children 12 and younger; or $50 for family or organization groups (up to four). Walkers with or without their dogs will pay a $10 registration fee. All dogs must be leashed. There will be a $5 fee to register on the day of the event. All proceeds will go to United Way.
The 5K Fun Run begins at 8:30 a.m.; the Dog Dash begins at 8:45 a.m.; and the walk begins at 9 a.m. Registration begins runs 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. for those who are not registered. Forms and course maps are at www.FranklinTN.gov/parks. Click on “What’s Happening Now.”
Family Day at The Park at Harlinsdale Farm will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. will feature plenty of activities for the entire family including children’s entertainment and DJ music. The day will include hayrides and children’s train rides, fishing/casting in the pond and a variety of games and inflatables for all ages. Also featured will be a petting zoo, lasso and horsemanship demonstrations, and free face painting. All Family Day activities are free, but there will be a small fee for snack items that include: hot dogs, corn dogs, burgers and fries, funnel cakes, and drinks.
“We’re thrilled to pair our Family Day event with the 5K Cross Country Fun Run,” said Parks Director Lisa Clayton. “You can bring the family out for the fun run in the morning and stay for the Family Day festivities. It’s sure to be fun for parents and children both.”
