County Sheriffs Office searching for carjacking suspect

The Williamson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a carjacking that was reported last night in the Cottonwood subdivision area and deputies are looking for a suspect.  

According to Sheriff’s Department Public Information Administrator Sharon Puckett, “A woman reported that when she got home around 8:30 p.m. and was about to get out of her car, a man armed with a handgun jumped into the passenger side of her vehicle. The woman told deputies the man ordered her to drive and he demanded money.”

After driving around the area, the woman said she was told to stop her vehicle and give the man money. The woman said she managed to get out of her vehicle and run toward some nearby houses. 

The suspect was last seen running from the Lynnwood Park area. The woman was not hurt.

The WCSO is looking for a black male, described as being around 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8, about 150 to 160 pounds and possibly in his early 20s.
