Nine boys players from Williamson County schools were named to the All-District 11-AAA regular season team Saturday.
Brentwood junior Andy Schumpert was honored as the league’s Most Valuable Player while teammates Asa Duvall James McPherson were also honored on the team.
Bruins coach Dennis King was named the district’s Coach of the Year, leading Brentwood to a 10-0 league record in the regular season.
Franklin was represented by Hunter Nelson and Ben Hagaman, Independence by Cam Miller and Vic Wharton, Ravenwood by Joey Barnes, and Centennial by Matt Pond.
Pond, and Wharton were also named to the All-Tournament team – along with Franklin’s Kyle Tackett, Brentwood’s Cody Shelton, Ravenwood’s Brandon Jones and Jonathan Coles, and Independence’s Trenton Perry.
Hillsboro’s Jamonte Davis was named tournament MVP, scoring 16 points in the Burros’ 55-44 win over the Eagles in the 11-AAA championship game.
