Lowen named to Exchange Club Family Center board

Williamson County resident Dr. Deborah Lowen was one of three new members named to the Exchange Club Family Center board of directors. The Exchange Club Family Center is a private, nonprofi t child abuse prevention agency that provides services for families and children who are living in abusive or potentially abusive situations throughout Middle Tennessee.
Lowen is an associate professor of pediatrics and the director of Child Abuse Pediatrics at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and the Monroe Carell Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt University. Previously, she served as medicl director of the Children’s Justice Center in Tulsa, Okla., and director of the Child Abuse Pediatric Fellowship Program at University of Oklahoma School of Community Medicine.
Lowen currently serves on several local and national committees associated with child abuse and is an author and lecturer on the subject.
She joins Davidson County Sheriff Daron Hall and marketing professional Bri Harding on the 14-member board, bringing a wealth of expertise to help the center’s efforts in reducing the occurrences and effects of child abuse and neglect, board president John Farringer said.
