For those of you who are curious about the Big Green Egg grill, but are just not sure how to cook on one, Saturday’s event at Harpeth True Value might help your decision to invest in this popular product.

On April 20, Harpeth True Value in Franklin will host a Big Green Egg workshop intended to help existing customers with their product and introduce the product to others.

“We will have chef coming in to prepare breakfast food in the morning, and lunch food later in the day,” said Ken Standbridge, manager at Harpeth True Value. “The premise behind the workshop is to help customers cook better, learn new techniques and maximize their investment. However, this workshop will be a great way to learn to cook on the Big Green Egg and see if this product is for you.”

The Big Green Egg touts their product as the ultimate cooking experience and for many cooking on the Green Egg is a lifestyle.

Paul Satterwhite of Arrington has owned a Green Egg for four years.

“You can’t go wrong with a Green Egg,” he said. “I kept my gas grill around for about six months after I purchased a green egg but I never used it. I got the hang of it after about the third time and I use it at least once a week year round and several times a week during the summer. I use it for slow cooking ribs, a brisket, or a butt or even if I just want throw on a steak or burger. The toughest decision for me was to decide on what size egg to buy.”

Representatives from the Big Green Egg will be on hand Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to answer questions. They will also be demonstrating, tasting and enjoying delicious food prepared on the Green Egg.

“We want our customers to know that we offer great customer service,” said Standbridge. “This event is just one way that we can do this.” In addition to the food tasting, Harpeth True Value will be giving away T-shirts for the first 50 customers, free snow balls (similar to Sno-Cones) and there will also be a drawing for a Green Egg giveaway.

Harpeth True Value is located at 230 Downs Blvd., in Franklin. For information call 615-794-3641.
